STIHL anti-vibration system

Intense vibrations at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system where the oscillations of the machine’s engine are dampened, which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.

STIHL ElastoStart®

STIHL ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by engine compression during starting. The compression shock is removed from the user’s joints and muscles via a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.

Tool-free fuel caps

Special caps on fuel and oil tanks are designed for easy opening and locking without the need for tools.

Decompression valve

The decompression valve is part of the easy start system. The valve must be pressed before starting to reduce compression pressure during starting, as well as the effort required to pull the starter cord. The decompression valve is semi-automatic, meaning it must be pressed manually before starting, but then closes automatically.

Compensator

This controller in the carburetor prevents the air-fuel mixture from enriching when the air filter becomes clogged. The right amount of fuel is delivered to the carburetor according to the amount of air passing through the air filter. This keeps the fuel/air ratio in the combustion mixture constant and therefore also the engine power. The filter does not need to be cleaned until a noticeable power drop occurs.

STIHL Ematic system

The Ematic chain lubrication system ensures precise lubrication of the saw chain links and guide bar rails. When used with the STIHL OILOMATIC saw chain, it will provide maximum lubrication, longer wear, and less oil consumption than conventional chain lubrication methods. The Ematic system can reduce oil consumption by up to 50%.

Side chain tensioner

The tension screw is located on the side of the chainsaw through the sprocket cover. Side chain tensioning allows effortless retensioning of the saw chain, avoiding any contact with the sharp chain.

Single-lever master control

All important functions such as starting, choke, throttle, and stop are controlled via a single lever.

Controlled flow oil pump

Different bar lengths, wood types, and sawing techniques require different amounts of oil. The controlled flow oil pump allows the user to select exactly the right amount of oil for the job at hand.
