Carburetor heating (V)

By switching the chainsaw from summer to winter operation, the intake air is preheated on the engine fins. This ensures that the carburetor does not freeze and that you can continue working in freezing temperatures.


Controlled flow oil pump

Different bar lengths, wood types, and sawing techniques require different amounts of oil. The controlled flow oil pump allows the user to select exactly the right amount of oil for the job at hand.

Side chain tensioner

The side-mounted chain tensioner allows easy and safe chain tensioning.

Compensator

This controller in the carburetor prevents the air-fuel mixture from enriching when the air filter becomes clogged. The right amount of fuel is delivered to the carburetor according to the amount of air passing through the air filter. This keeps the fuel/air ratio in the combustion mixture constant and therefore also the engine power. The filter does not need to be cleaned until a noticeable power drop occurs.

Decompression valve

The decompression valve is part of the easy start system. The valve must be pressed before starting to reduce compression pressure during starting, as well as to reduce the effort required to pull the starter cord. The decompression valve is semi-automatic; it must be pressed manually before starting, but then closes automatically.

STIHL anti-vibration system

Precisely calculated buffer zones minimize the transfer of vibrations from the engine and chain to the front and rear handles. The chainsaw therefore operates much more easily. This allows the user to save strength and work longer.

STIHL Ematic system

Compared to conventional guides without Ematic, the STIHL Ematic system reduces chain lubricant consumption by up to 50%, depending on the type of wood and cutting attachment used. This system includes a STIHL Ematic or Ematic S guide bar, a STIHL Oilomatic saw chain, and a variable flow or reduced flow oil pump. As a result, practically every drop of chain lubricant is delivered exactly to the right place.

Single-lever master control

All important functions such as starting, choke, throttle, and stop are controlled via a single lever.

Tool-free fuel caps

Special caps for opening and closing the tank cap quickly, easily, and without tools.
